2026 Overwintered Nuc
The overwintered nucs are started during the previous year. The Queen is monitored and graded based on brood pattern, temperament, and hygienics through the fall & winter and is normally available end of March.
About our bees: We run Italian (Golden West/Randy Oliver) and Carniolan (Latschaw Apiary) lines in our operation. Each year we evaluate our colonies and select best queen based on desired traits to be our breeders. Gentleness and efficient honey production are very important traits to us because we are primarily honey producers. Furthermore, we select breeders based on their hygienic traits, mite resistance, low swarm tendency and robust brood rearing.
Each nuc will contain 5 Deep frames with 3 + frames of brood. Rest honey / pollen.
Nucs will be in a Pro-Nuc box for easy transportation.
Inspected by TN Department of Agriculture.
Locally mated queen (Marked) from productive stock.
Most frames are less than 3 years old.
Organically managed colonies. We don’t use synthetic miticides / antibiotic treatments.
Our bees are not used for commercial pollination.
All colonies are treated with Oxalic Acid Vapor/ Dribble in winter.
Available mid to late March, weather dependent.
Reservation Fee is $50. The remaining amount is due upon pick up. ($250 - $50 deposit = $200 per Nuc due at pick up). The fee is non-refundable after 01/15/2026.
A notification with a pickup date and instructions will be emailed to you at least a week prior. Projected pickup date will be Saturday March 21, 2026 between 8am - 2 pm in Murfreesboro (Inclement weather pickup: 28 March). Please be on time.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
